Nora Hertz, is a PhD candidate at the University of Freiburg (Germany) and a research assistant in the interdisciplinary project Responsible and Scalable Learning for Robots Assisting Humans (ReScaLe). She studied law at Humboldt-University Berlin (state exam), Paris-Panthéon-Assas University (maîtrise en droit) and King´s College London (LLM).
Her research focuses on the human rights protection of the mind and the regulation of non-medical neurotechnologies. In 2023, she did a research stay at the “Steering Committee for Human Rights in the fields of Biomedicine and Health” at the Council of Europe. Currently, she is a visiting doctoral student at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at the University of Oxford.
