Ellie Smith is a human rights lawyer and Senior Research Fellow at Bournemouth University, UK, on MaGPIE, a five-year, European Research Council selected, UKRI funded Consolidator Award to develop a comprehensive, universal human rights framework for Mass Grave Protection, Investigation and Engagement. She is co-author of the international standard setting Bournemouth Protocol on Mass Grave Protection and Investigation, and Research Fellow on MaGMap, a Leverhulme-funded project that seeks to evaluate the risks, challenges and safe approaches to mass grave mapping.
