Debolina Bhatt

Debolina Bhatt is a Ph.D. Researcher in International Law at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her doctoral research examines the liability regime under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea for marine environmental harm that could potentially arise from commercial scale deep seabed mining.

Debolina also serves as Teaching Assistant for the Interdisciplinary Masters Programmes at the Geneva Graduate Institute since February 2023. Prior to joining the Ph.D Programme, Debolina taught Tort Law and Criminal Procedure at Jindal Global Law School in India (2019-2021). She also served as Faculty Coordinator at the JGLS, Office of International Collaborations.
Debolina was admitted to practice law in India in 2014. She holds a Master’s degree in International Law and Security from the University of Glasgow (2017). She also holds an LL.M. in Indian Constitutional Law (2014) and Bachelor’s degrees in Law (Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, India, 2012) and Education (University of Calcutta, India, 2003).
